A classic Route 66 Inn, built in 1935 and maintained beautifully.  Under the same local
ownership for the past 31 years, with a loyal and dedicated staff with an average tenure
greater than ten years. This tranquil, roadside inn features lush gardens that are designated
a NWF backyard habitat and white-washed buildings spread over five acres.  A landmark inn, El
Rey has offered affordable lodging just minutes from the Plaza for more than 65 years. 
Friendly staff, sunny garden nooks and continental breakfast served in a cheery dining room
add to the pleasant experience.  Eighty-six rooms, ranging from inexpensive standards to a
deluxe lodge suite, are surrounded by lovely outdoor amenities: sitting areas, fountains, and
picnic areas.  Tasteful decor ranges from Spanish Colonial to Southwestern, including
hand-painted motifs and Mexican tile murals.  Suites include fireplaces and kitchenettes and
many rooms have pleasant, private patios.  The outdoor heated pool is available in warm
seasons only, two hot tubs and a sauna and exercise room are used year round.  A laundry room
and playground also add convenience to a comfortable stay.

From ABQ airport take I-25 North to Santa Fe. Take the NM-14 - Cerrillos Road exit, number 278, and follow directions to Cerrillos Road. Continue North on Cerrillos Road about 6 1/4 miles to El Rey Inn, on your right. Just past St. Michael's Drive intersection. Coming south on I-25 from Colorado take the St. Francis Exit. There are highway 'Trail Blazer' signs along this exit for El Rey Inn which will bring you to our door. From 285 south enter I-25 South eight miles east of Santa Fe. This will be a left turn. Take the St Francis Exit and follow the highway trail blazer signs to El Rey Inn. From 285 North entering Santa Fe from the north, 285 becomes St Francis Drive. Turn Right at the intersection with Cerrillos Road. Proceed about 1 1/4 mile toward the south west and see El Rey Inn on your left. From Santa Fe airport take airport road toward Santa Fe. Turn left at the intersection with Cerrillos Road. Proceed about 4 miles in a north east direction, toward the mountains and find El Rey Inn on your right, just past the intersection with St. Michael's Drive.

Areas Served: Two miles southwest of Santa Fe's Plaza on Cerrillos Road, a main road to Santa Fe from the south. Two blocks from College of Santa Fe.
